2018 Mother's Day Gift Guide

Ashton Pruitt gift guide gifts mothers day mothers day gift guide

I guess technically this will be my 3rd year as a mother. Before Myleigh-Pearl was born I was a PROUD dog mom (and honestly thought that is what I would be forever) until we were blessed with her sweet little soul. One reason I love Mother's Day so much is because I think I have one of the worlds greatest moms. She loves my siblings and I unconditionally. You know, the kind of love that even if you come home late and she can tell you probably had a little too much fun and might or might have not made bad decisions she was still going to cook you breakfast in the morning. The kind of love that tried to shield us from a lot of pain growing up. She really was and still is a cheerleader at whatever crazy big ideas I come up with. I think the most impressive thing about my mom is her faith. She really has been through a lot and still is steadfast and faithful. I can only hope to be the kind of mom she is. Enjoy this photo of me all big fat and 8 months pregnant with MP with my Mom.

Gifts and Ghosts of Mother's Day Past

I think my most memorable Mother's Day gift growing up was when I was around 7. My Aunt Missy gave me some old costume jewelry. I saw this as a perfect opportunity to re-gift this to my mom. She really "acted" like it was great, but knew exactly where I had gotten it and found it quite humorous. Being 7 I thought this was a great idea. When we were younger Scott and I would wake up early and go to the kitchen to try to cook her breakfast in bed. Bless it, we could barely put milk in a bowl much less make oatmeal. She really was brave for trying whatever concoction we had come up with.  I also was notorious for accidentally getting my mom the same card a couple years in a row that talked about how great of a daughter she raised (me.) As I got older the go-to super safe gift was the rose bush or plant. Not that those aren't great ideas; maybe you just need help coming up with more. If you're looking for something that is a little extra special, I have some fun little options for our "cool moms" out there. While these might be specific to moms of all types... we think moms generally will love whatever you decide to bless them with; even if it is just a simple phone call.

1. The T-Shirt Wear'n Momma

This little jewel is a great graphic tee for anyone's closet. You can purchase it here. Pair it with your favorite kimono or cardigan, skinnys and shoes you're good to go. Pictured with the Courtney jeans by KanCan and the Not Rated Xara sandals. The tee is SUPER SOFT and a unisex fit.

2. The Momma Planting Them Seeds.

We are "succas' for Mommas for sure! I had a lot of fun planting these super cute succulents in our fun ceramic camp mugs. These are dishwasher safe AND double sided. If you aren't crazy about the plant, you can of course take them out and use the mug if you are a coffee or tea connoisseur.

3. Key to our Hearts Momma.

Just a simple keychain can go a long way! Add this little keychain bling to your mom's keys so she'll think of you when she is driving to the jail to bail ya out.

4. So Fresh and So Clean Clean Momma on the Go.

We think that this is just a fun and simple gift to add to maybe a couple of other items for the fun and funky momma. With the hint of jasmine in the air, it will maybe put Momma a little bit more at ease in stressful situations like being late to church or something.

5. The Fur Momma

We have several friends who's babies are fur babies. You can't forget the love only a dog can give. At Southern Savvy we know that LOVE is a four legged word.

6. The Mom That LOVES NICE THINGS.

Really though, just break down and get one. Instead of buying a cheap one every 6 months that wears out from a big box store... get yourself or your Momma a Hobo wallet or handbag. These are investment pieces that you'll love for years. We have Hobo products of all shapes and sizes and you can get you your momma a great leather handbag of great quality at Southern Savvy!

7. The "Sweet" Momma.

If you want to know what heaven smells like... THIS IS IT. Seriously. This is it. Walk into our store and you'll know why. The fabulous aroma of Bridgewater's "Sweet Grace" scent is alluring. You'll want your house, your panty drawer, your car, your armpit, your momma's house smelling like this. ITS AMAZING. This is our number one product at Southern Savvy and we are so proud to carry Sweet Grace in numerous gorgeous containers. We offer not only the candles but the scent also can be purchased in sachet packs, wax bars, hand soap, and lotion.

8. The Musical Momma

Our super cute "Bling-A-Go-Go" tees are fun with a musical flair. We have some for our Dolly fans as well as Patsy. With a vintage flair, anyone can pull these fun tees off.

9. The Mom that has EVERYTHING.

When folks come in who are looking for a gift of any sort, we always recommend a "Giving Key." You choose a word. Embrace it. Bless someone who needs that word more than you do. This is a GREAT gift to give someone who has everything or loves to bless others. You get a cute bag with the giving keys story on it as well. This is available in store only.

Hopefully some of these ideas will inspire you this Mother's Day. Thank you again to all of our shoppers who allow us to be a part of your holiday. Love something you saw? Click on the photo to purchase and use code "MOMMALOVE" at checkout to save 15% off your purchase. Order by May 12th to receive before Mother's Day if you need it shipped. Momma's WE LOVE YOU!
